Late-winter Hiking and Snowshoeing
Discover trails that are fun to explore even if there's no snow on the ground.
Right now is a great time to be in the woods. Late-winter brings great snowshoeing conditions to the Rhinelander Area. But as the month progresses and the snow melts from the landscape, there will still be plenty of trail trekking to be had.
Here are some trails to try if you’re looking to snowshoe. These same trails are also great places to hike, should Mother Nature decide that springtime should come early. One note: if cross-country skiers happen to be using any of these trails, be sure to avoid stepping on the ski tracks.
- Washburn Lake County Trail: Take a stroll along 15 miles of hilly trails.
- CAVOC Trails: Go on a winter walk along 5 miles of trail loops.
- Enterprise County Trail: Discover this outstanding snowshoeing trail.
- Almon Park Trail: This 2.25-mile trail is great for beginners.
