Wisconsin River
Wisconsin River, Rhinelander
The Wisconsin River is the backbone of the state, and the river flows directly through Rhinelander, providing ample opportunity for canoeing and kayaking. A good place to put in is at the Bridge Road near McNaughton north of Rhinelander. From there, paddlers can head south! More adventurous folks can travel all the way to the Boom Lake in Rhinelander. The river is dam-controlled, so water levels remain constant throughout the year. The Wisconsin River is also a popular fishing destination.
