Washburn Lake County Trail
West of Rhinelander you’ll find some trails perfect for silent sports. The Washburn Lake County Trail is located seven miles west of Rhinelander and three miles north of Woodboro and Highway 8, just off Washburn Lake Road. The system includes 15 miles of trail ideal for hiking and mountain biking.
Here’s a trail map.
The Washburn Trails are part of the Oneida County Tourism and Forest Department and are maintained in cooperation with the Rhinelander Area Silent Trails Association.
The trail is hilly, beautiful and wild and the hiking and biking here is only getting better. There are efforts underway to expand the trail system. Learn more here.
Be sure to check trail conditions before you ride – when trails are wet this time of year, it’s easy to inadvertently cause trail damage. When in doubt, you have a great plan B in Rhinelander – our beautiful woodlands roads are always a great option for a ride.
Note: The Rhinelander Area is open, and all visitors are welcome. Please travel safely and responsibly. Some businesses and events may have modified hours or procedures; please contact businesses or event organizers directly for specific information.
