Holiday event details
We know Hodag Country knows how to celebrate the season. Rhinelander has two big events coming up in December that you won’t want to miss-celebrate at the downtown Christmas Parade & Tree Lighting and Lights of the Northwoods.
On Dec. 1 at 5 pm, this festive event will kick off the holiday season. First,a parade takes place in downtown Rhinelander. After the parade, an official lighting of the holiday tree will take place at Stevensport Square.
The theme this year is Season of Giving. The Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce and Christmas Committee will collect non-perishable food items and unwrapped toys at the parade and tree lighting.
If you start to feel cold, stop by the Masonic Lodge on Davenport Street, which will be open to the public. Grab some hot chocolate or coffee while warming up.
See Hodag Park transformed into a world of light from Dec. 14-16 and Dec. 21-23. A hardworking group of volunteers creates some amazing displays that are sure to get you in the holiday spirit. Work is now underway, but the official ribbon-cutting and opening ceremony will take place on Dec. 14.
The displays are open from 5-9pm every night. There will be a driving route as well as a walking path. See a map of the displays here.
Don’t miss the fun on Dec. 15: Santa will be at the park, and there will be caroling by the fire at 6 pm. You can also visit Santas Gift Shop, where little ones can find gifts for family members. Enjoy concessions at the park, with hot beverages and food.
Note: The Rhinelander Area is open, and all visitors are welcome. Please travel safely and responsibly. Some businesses and events may have modified hours or procedures; please contact businesses or event organizers directly for specific information.
